What:

We’ll be throwing a huge invitational double-up contest with 8 of the best wakeboarders the Northwest has to offer. Viewing will take place from a special beer garden (for guests 21 and over) hosted by Sockeye's restaurant, as well as from the soft grass hills that line the lake (for families or guests preferring a bit more space). The boat  and rider will drive by ten feet from shore, nearly close enough to give a vicious high five or a fierce set of knucks. You’ll have an unobstructed view of all 8 riders boosting off of some tasty double-ups. They’ll be going so high you’ll feel like you’re sitting front row at a space shuttle launch. Enjoy food and drink specials from Sockeye's, catch up with old friends or make new ones, and feast your eyes upon some great wakeboarding as each rider competes in this head-to-head contest for a chance at the $500 winner take all cash purse. The contest will end at 10:30, but Sockeye’s is open until 2am. We’ll be sticking around until late, so plan on doing the same.

What:

We are excited to host the first ever Northwest Riders Wake Series at Lake Tye Park in Monroe, WA. Our wakeboard contest is open to riders of all ages and skill levels, with 5 divisions to choose from. Prizes will be awarded to 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place in each division. Divisions include:

  • Novice: 0 inverts or spins (360 is considered a spin, a 180 is not)
  • Women: Pretty self explanatory.
  • Intermediate: 1 to 3 different inverts or spins (doing the same trick 3 times still only counts as 1 invert or spin).
  • Advanced: 4-6 inverts or spins
  • Open: 7+ inverts or spins.

Come out for a full day of wakeboarding, whether you’re competing, cheering someone on, or just stopping by to see what wakeboarding is. Visit vendors booths from all of our sponsors, grab a cold Red Bull in the rider’s tent, a great lunch at the concession stand, and enter to win some awesome prizes in our giveaway. If you want to take a break from the action, bring your skateboard to use at the Monroe skate park located just 100 feet from the dock.

Sunday August 15th

Who:

Anyone that wants to learn something on a wakeboard...from getting up for the first time on to a new invert or spin.

What:

We’ll be hosting a private wakeboard clinic with professional wakeboarder Brent Starr. Only 15 spots are available, so be sure to register early. The registration fee buys you two hours in the boat, split between you and two other riders. That means two 20 minute sets per person (assuming that you’re quick about putting your board on), and plenty of time to watch and learn from the other riders in your group. Brent can teach you anything on a wakeboard, whether you’re just trying to get up for the first time, or trying to learn your tenth invert. Regardless of what level rider you are, you’ll leave a better wakeboarder, and maybe even a better person. We’ll provide a whole line of 2010 Slingshot wakeboards and bindings for you to try out.
