Greg and I decided to celebrate "Boxing Day" in style this year. So... to the friendly Bankers in Australia, Canada, New Zealand, United Kingdom, and those Commonwealth Nations that partake...enjoy your extra day off!
We took a photo, have a look ...
We received an email a few weeks back from Carter Wilson with some information on Freebording. I have to say, I am pretty intrigued. It is not longboarding, not skateboarding, not snowboarding...but a bit of a mix of all three.
We've had a few visits here to northwestriders.com from the Freebord website as well. Read on and have a look at a few videos to see just what I am talking about ...
Plenty of snow, rain, ice, and wind is making its way through the Northwest. Growing up in this stuff in Eastern Washington was one thing. Mix in a lot more people, a lot more vehicles, and add the fact that those people behind the wheels of those vehicles are not used to this much snow and ice means scary conditions!
Don't get me wrong, I'm just as sketched out here in the city when winter hits hard...which is why I am in-doors in the warmth typing this BLOG today.
Greg made his way down to Oregon on a sales trip just before Seattle got tagged with winter...and basically is now stuck south. More on that, along with a pretty telling video of road conditions here in Sea-Town await:

Yesterday, October 3, the 2010 Red Bull Rampage went down and showcased some legit mountain biking with riders that put it all on the line. Every time I see these guys I am blown away by the dedication they have and the risk they take for their sport of choice.

A year or so ago I was scavenging the pages of the northwestriders.com Google Analytics stats. I came across a peculiar referring website that was named "Ninja Motorhome" and my interest was naturally peaked. Ninjas...yes. Motorhomes...sure.

Well...the wedding was a success (I didn't get stood up) and the Honeymoon was a blast! Barbados was fantastic even though the waves were pretty much a no go. We did, however, get stood up by the taxi service at 5:00 AM for the trip back home. Special thanks goes out to "Chicken" ... the local Barbadian that gave Sara and I a ride to the airport on the fly...you were a Godsend! We made it to our flight just 10 minutes before check-in closed.
Greg handled the orders superbly and it turns out the company can officially run without me. I think I feel pretty good about that fact...maybe I should take more vacations.
Unexpectedly, Northwest Riders profited handsomely from the wedding. You'll notice all the sweet packaging in the BLOG photo above. NWR got the gift around the gifts that Sara and I received. Paper, plastic bags, and all sorts of shipping goodness. So just a heads up...if you receive your future order and it has some fancy tissue paper with floral designs or some other frilly protective material you have just unwittingly become a part of my holy matrimonious goodness. So...congratulations!
I look forward to getting the rest of June rolling and am pumped to be back in the office and cranking. We have a LOT on our plate right now. Looking forward to some BIG things this summer. We have some pretty sweet plans and happenings in the works that I can't quite let you all know about just yet...but stay tuned.
Happy Tuesday.

Tomorrow, Thursday the 3rd of June, I will officially become official as I tie the 'ol knot with my fiance. That's right kids...this wise old codger is getting married and will no longer be on the market. I'll pause while you shed a tear or two...
In the short term, I am going to get away from this rain-fest that is the Northwest currently and soak up some sunshine in Barbados...pending any hurricanes of course as the season has just begun there. That means that the Gregster will be handling orders and making sure the ship stays shape while I am away. Good luck my man! I highly suggest that everyone that visits the site places at least 17 orders while I am gone so Greg has plenty to fill his proverbial plate with.
In the long term, I'll be back and charging in the office on June 15th. I'm not entirely sure that qualifies as long term, but it'll have to do. If anyone needs to request anything for orders, has any website related questions, or just wonders why we're not spending all our time twittering it up...give Greg a call or drop him an email. You can get all that info here.
As always, thanks for all the support...please keep it up. Now that I am a family man the bills getting paid takes on a whole new life. See you on the other side.

What do screen legend Sam Elliot and screen newcomer Eddie Roberts have in common? Banquet beer. Take the vocal chords of Elliot and toss them in with Eddie's talent and you have the best Coors commercial since the last Coors commercial.

Prepare your eyes and ears for some sweet velvety gold sensations. If you don't get what I mean...watch, and you will. Personal favorites would be "Without You" and "Little Wings" ... also the flamboyant Phil Thomas Katt.

Well put Angie Cantrell. Couldn't have said it better myself.
In addition to the awesome email I received today (below)...which some may consider spam, but put a smile on my face nonetheless...I had quite the treat from a fortune cookie the other day.
The fortune was: "you will receive pieces of gold by the bushel."
If this little prophesy comes true we'll be sending each of our past customers a free t-shirt.

Thank you parwehomher...thank you.
It's Friday the 13th today and what better way to celebrate than with a candid and in-depth review of a school fight from a 13(ish) year old. We will also give it a PG-13 rating for some of the choice words just as a warning in case you have "little ears" in the room with you.

After sitting down this evening and following my newest routine (watching the NBC Nightly News with Brian Williams) I was disgusted to see that both CitiBank and Bank of America are asking for a combined total of nearly $45 billion in help from the federal government. It actually got me thinking. I'm pretty sure that Northwest Riders deserves at least a couple of billion in assistance as well. So, we're happy to announce that once we receive payment for the 2.3 billion dollars we've requested from the fed, we're going to throw a party and everyone's invited. We'll have clowns, cake, dancing, gypsies, dancing gypsies, a petting zoo, and Michael McDonald will be on stage all night. Anyway, just wanted to let you know.

We here at NWR would like to wish everyone a Merry Christmas. We had a great 2008. Thanks for making it out to our events and clinics and buying our gear to support the brand. We appreciate our fans and customers and are excited for 2009.
The snow has hit Seattle and the rest of the northwest hard! That means great mountain conditions and excellent snowboarding and skiing. Have fun out there...stay safe, and enjoy the holidays!
See you all in 2009!

Over the years, I feel as though I’ve gotten a bad rap amongst some of my friends as the guy that “makes up stories” or “invents fictitious characters” just to be funny. My only defense has been to simply state that for some odd reason I come into contact with an enormous amount of strange people and even stranger situations. I do not seek these random people or events out, I just seem to constantly be in the right place at the right time.

So where have we been lately? I'd like to tell you that I just wanted to wait an exact month between posts because I got a chain letter that told me a pink rhinoceros named Stan would appear and grant me three wishes if I did...but that's just silly. In truth, the weird hat thing from Harry Potter came over the other day and has been continually distracting me whenever I attempt to update the NWR News. He just keeps screaming SLITHEREN!!! every time I hop on here...but he finally got bored and left.
So now that's cleared up and I can get to it. I am claiming the excuse of being so busy behind the scenes that the content for any news would have been boring. The work has been steady...just not noteworthy. I am officially making no sense (I have not eaten all day I think I may be hallucinating), so a note that is, in fact, worthy: We have some new hoodies and tees dropping in the next few weeks. Girls too! Blanks just arrived and the magic is set in motion. Goodness to come
