TEAM RIDER APPLICATION
NORTHWEST RIDERS CLOTHING CO.
Thanks for taking the time to fill out our Team Rider Application. We take a lot of pride in working with some of the Northwest’s most talented athletes, and we choose them carefully. Here are a few things to remember as you fill out the application:
A) This is a chance for us to get to know you. Tell us about yourself, not just your talents as a rider. This is a small company and we’re very picky about the people we work with. We put a bigger emphasis on who you are as a person than who you are as a rider. Be original, be honest, don’t be fake...that’s all we’re asking.
B) Spelling counts. Think we’re joking? Try us. Actually, we’re not the grammar police but please remember this isn’t a text message. It’s probably a good idea to put a period after a complete thought. Sorry, we’re not bitter...but you wouldn’t believe some of the ‘sponsor me’ requests that we’ve gotten. We have fun here at work, we have a good sense of humor , and we are really laid back. We’re simply suggesting that you put a little more effort into this than “hi my name is billy i am 16 i like to snowboard i have been snowboarding for 6 years i ride at stevens pass with my friends haha it would be awesome if you gave me some free stuff cuz i think ur company is cool thx.”------seriously, we see that fairly often.
C) Send us a few photos of yourself riding, and maybe a lifestyle shot too. Please don’t stress out about getting super high quality photos taken by a professional photographer. This isn’t that big of a deal. We just want to make sure that if you’re trying to get sponsored, you can at least do the sport you’re trying to get sponsored for (and do it with some style).
D) Bonus points for a video of you riding. This doesn’t have to be professional quality either, we just want to get an idea of what you can do. Any applicants who include background music by Creed, Nickelback, or Lil’ Wayne will automatically be disqualified. If you don’t have access to a video camera, don’t sweat it. Feel free to send us YouTube or Vimeo links.
E) Please fill out the entire application. If we say we need your phone number it’s because we might want to call you to tell you you’re on the team, not because we’re going to sell your information to a telemarketing company.
F) Relax. You shouldn’t get stressed out about this. We were only half-kidding about spelling being important. This is just a chance for us to get to see a bit of your personality, your talent as a rider, and what makes you tick.
We do our very best to respond to rider applications in a timely manner. We are, however, a really small company and work pretty long hours as it is. We get a ton of these applications every week (which is awesome), but sometimes we just don’t have time to read them and respond right away. Please be patient and accept our apologies if it takes awhile to get back to you.
